Personality

Diana is a headstrong woman who knows what she wants and how to get it. Her tenacity knows no bounds and she's one hell of a tough cookie. Diana has a strong sense of justice and she'll do anything to get it even if it's unethical or immoral. Crossing her is not a wise thing to do and she won't stop until she's satisfied with her revenge which shows her vindictive side. Diana has a hardcore, sensible attitude when it comes to her duties and is a confident natural-born leader who cares for all of her friends and subordinates and will fight to the finish for them to the point of risking her life. She's fearless and rebellious, often getting into trouble because of her short temper and she definitely has the distinction of being a loose cannon among her peers.

Diana has serious issues with trust due to suffering from abuse and manipulation from her peers and authority figures and is generally distrusting of humanity as a whole. She doesn't open up easily to people and can be rather intimidating due to her rough appearance and crude, harsh way of speaking. Despite her wild, unruly ways, Diana has a deeper nature that is filled with selflessness, loyalty, and compassion. As someone who has had to suffer greatly at such a young age, Diana cannot ignore the true suffering of others and becomes sympathetic upon sensing pain and resolve in people's hearts. Though she will intervene on behalf of the oppressed if she concludes that a situation has called for it, Diana tends to help only those with the will - but not the means - to help themselves, in which case her recklessness and disdain for authority often has her bending the rules (or outright breaking them) to dole out a Robin Hood-esque justice, which has earned her notoriety and popularity among people who are disadvantaged.

Diana has a secret past side of her that most people don't know about underneath her professionalism and brutal attitude. Previously she embodied rebellion, drug abuse, and amoralism as well as sexual promiscuity and partying. Diana also had a nonchalant, sarcastic, and mellow attitude, was generally weak in combat, and had many friends and connections within the drug business as well as the local gangs. She's heavily regretful of past events, her old reputation, and although she'll never admit it, embarrassed of what people might think of her being a cop whilst having living evidence of her delinquent, immoral, drug-clouded past as an apathetic, hedonistic hippie.

Past: Diana was born in Detroit, Michigan to a hard-working, middle-class family, her mother being a cop and her dad being a truck driver. But things came a tragic end when Diana was only 8. Her parents were murdered during a carjacking and Diana along with her older sister Yvette were taken in by their aunt Shavon who lived in Los Angeles. But everything wasn't smooth sailing. Shavon was twice divorced with three sons, suffered from PTSD alongside borderline personality disorder, and was very volatile towards all the kids which made their transition from Detroit to Los Angeles even more difficult. Over the years, Diana's cousins went down a dark path which lead to Travis going to prison, Richard being kicked out of the house due to his drug use, and Teshawn murdered by a local gang.

When Yvette turned 18, Shavon kicked her and 14 year old Diana out after a big argument, causing the two to move in with Yvette's boyfriend Floyd. At first, things were finally going well for once in Diana's life but six months later, Floyd began to make sexual advances towards her which soon escalated to rape. The incidents continued to happen until Yvette walked in on them. Taking Floyd's side over Diana's, Yvette kicked her out. To make matters worse, Shavon sided with Yvette as well, meaning Diana had no place to stay and was homeless.

To cope with her pain and trauma, Diana turned to sex, drugs, and partying and couch-surfed from house to house for a year before moving in with her best friend Denise Sinclair who lived with her older brother Christopher who was 19 at the time. Despite being only 16 at the time, Diana was instantly enamored with Christopher and it wasn't long before they started dating. Diana, Christopher, and Denise were an unstoppable trio in the partying scene and they had a wild, hedonistic lifestyle until Diana's 18th birthday. While they were at a party, there was a drive-by shooting and Christopher was shot protecting her.

Diana was traumatized and felt immensely guilty from the incident. She stopped partying, doing drugs, and shocked everyone by joining the Marines when she graduated from high school. Her MOS was 5811: Military Police. Transitioning to military life was difficult and boot camp was even more difficult but thanks to Christopher and Denise constantly encouraging her and keeping her motivated, Diana graduated with high marks and Christopher surprised her by proposing to her which she eagerly said yes to.

The young couple married after Diana completed her advanced training and she decided to go to college to major in Criminal Justice as well after being persuaded by her higher-ups to do so. Balancing college, military life, and her marriage made life hectic and wild for Diana and throughout the years, she gave birth to two daughters that she named Maxine and Vanessa. After finally graduating from college with a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice, Diana's contract was set to expire but she was planning to renew it and become an officer. But life had other plans.

One day, Diana awoke to find Christopher dead next to her. He suffered from epilepsy and had died in his sleep from a seizure. Because of how unexpected his death was, Diana's life turned upside-down overnight as she now had to raise their daughters on her own while dealing with her grief.

Diana decided not to renew her contract and left the Marines to give her daughters a more stable life. She went back to Los Angeles and settled down with her daughters thanks to the help of Denise. Wanting to continue her career in law enforcement, Diana decided to apply for the LAPD and joining was a breeze for her. Thanks to her military experience and tenacity, she quickly gained a reputation among her fellow officers and rose through the ranks, eventually becoming a Lieutenant.

Now Diana is enjoying her new career in the LAPD while balancing single motherhood and making new friends among the way.
