Josephine has what many would describe as a black, smoldered heart filled with anger and rage. She doesn't give two fucks about mostly anything and everything and mostly wants to watch the world burn. Josephine is a daredevil and likes to live life to the fullest, no matter how dangerous her activities may be. She loves power and dominance but a good challenge always gets her blood pumping. If there's one thing Josephine hates most, it's losing.
Her attitude is often flippant, teasing, sarcastic, and rebellious with no regard for authority or anyone else for that matter, her lack of empathy quite astounding at times. She's the very definition of a bad girl and does whatever she wants when she wants. Josephine has a depressing and bleak outlook on life which isn't surprising considering her attitude. She's not to be trifled with and she makes sure everyone around her knows it. One wrong move can resort in a fierce, sharp tongue-lashing from Josephine.
Her past is the prime reason why she acts the way she does. Many events made her fragile mind snap, fall apart, and piece back together into the person that she is now. Mentioning her past is a huge berserk button for Josephine, always resulting in violence towards whoever has the audacity to do so. Josephine's guarded, distant, and often rude behavior stems from how angry and wounded she is which she also hides by being fiery and bittersweet.
But deep down, Josephine does indeed have a big heart and she will help someone in need although she will give them a dose of tough love along the way. Past: Josephine's mother Carol was a prostitute junkie who frequently traded her for money and drugs. When she was 9, her mother disappeared and never came back. All alone, Josephine wandered the streets of Chicago, trying to survive which was very difficult because of her having diabetes. In order to get any insulin, Josephine was often forced to trade her body and would team up with other homeless kids so she wouldn't be alone. At the age of 13, Josephine's life went from rags to riches when she attempted to rob Jasmine Sinclair, a 16 year old girl walking home from school.
The robbery attempt was thwarted easily thanks to Jasmine's martial arts skills and Josephine instantly gravitated towards the older girl which led to her being taken in by the Sinclair family. She went from rags to riches overnight, finally having the love of a real family and being treated to the best money could offer due to the Sinclairs being very wealthy.
Josephine and Jasmine's relationship became blurred between sisterhood and romance but before they had the chance to take things further, Jasmine died in a car accident on Josephine's 14th birthday. The tragedy destroyed the young girl from the inside out and she slowly began to change into a completely different person. Concerned about her future, Jasmine's parents sent Josephine to Spencer Academy in Salem when she turned 15, hoping that it would change her attitude.
