At first glance, Zuri seems like an introverted, classy ice queen. She is quiet, troubled, brooding, grim, moody, seemingly emotionless, intelligent, studious, and sarcastic. Zuri can always come up with a snarky and sarcastic remark and her wittiness knows no bounds. She is quite mature and resilient, often giving advice to others about various subjects and generally staying cool and calm no matter how desperate the situation is. Around strangers, Zuri is often emotionally restrained, appearing secretive and distant as well as spending most of her time by herself. It is difficult for her to build trust in anyone and even more difficult to truly forgive if that trust were to be broken. Zuri doesn't like to mince words and says whatever is on her mind no matter what, having no tolerance for stupidity. Her mouth can be quite outrageous to the point of being humorous. ~~History/Biography~~

Zuri was born into a life of privilege being the firstborn of four children to a Japanese father and African-American mother. Despite both of her parents coming from rough, impoverished backgrounds, they worked their asses off to rise to the very top of society and become Ivy League educated and refined.

Although Zuri had a great home life and the upbringing most children would die for, she didn't fare very well outside of it. At school, she was bullied severely which caused her to develop low self-esteem and depression. Zuri would often completely shut down in school and in public and at the age of 13, she couldn't take it anymore and attempted suicide. This led to her getting counseling, being put on medication, and her transformation began with the help of her family and friends that she had made.

As Zuri got older, her talents became more and more noticeable and her self-confidence slowly began to grow thanks to her growing circle of friends that she met while beginning to attend Duel Academy. Now she's currently working hard to become an excellent duelist and hopefully make her own path in life.

Personality

Veronica is a woman with a quiet, icy, and classy demeanor. She's usually distant and reserved, preferring to express herself through her actions rather than words. Whenever she does speak, she speaks candidly and bluntly with lots of sass. Veronica absolutely abhors small talk and frivolousness. Past: Veronica's father David was a U.S. Marine and he had met her mother Aileen while he was in college. They fell in love which resulted in Aileen getting pregnant and they eloped in Hawaii. The couple settled down in Fort Hood, Texas where Veronica was born. She had a happy childhood and many great memories but little did she know, things were going to get really bad really quickly.

Aileen and David had gotten divorced when Veronica was 8 due to irreconcilable differences and her parents shared custody of her but Veronica spent most of her time at her mom's place due to her father's career. Having a blended family made Veronica come out of her shell and she had great memories with her newfound stepparents and siblings but there were some bad memories to go along with them. Her stepfather Anthony's younger brother Mark was inappropriate with Veronica from the moment he first met her and the grooming soon escalated to full-blown rape when she was 13. Whenever there was a family gathering or reunion, Veronica would be subject to sexual and mental abuse at the hands of Mark but as she got older, she began to fight back against him and avoided him whenever possible, wanting to get away from him and never see him again.

After graduating from high school, Veronica decided to enlist into the Marines, following in her father's footsteps and her MOS was 5811: Military Police. She quickly built a name for herself thanks to her determination, hard work ethic, and sassy attitude and it wasn't long before she worked her way up the ranks and became a Special Agent in the Criminal Investigation Division, even earning a Silver Star for her bravery and heroism. During this time, she had married her longtime sweetheart Joseph Summers, having 3 kids with him. But their relationship was often tumultuous and filled with tension because of Veronica's devotion to her work, her sexual repression which caused them to have a semi-dead bedroom, and the changes to her personality which eventually led to their divorce after 5 years of marriage and 10 overall years of being together. On the surface, Diana is soft-spoken and polite as well as warm and compassionate. Motivation and cheerfulness are also a part of her daily routine. Her biggest personality trait is her calm, "zen-like" nature. Diana rarely loses her composure and is always there to offer support and wise advice to anyone who needs it. Past: Diana's childhood was raised in a strait-laced Christian household. Her mother Renee was strict and sometimes harsh while her father Lester was more gentle and kind. Being the daughter of a famous pastor was difficult for Diana since she was always subject to scrutiny and constant monitoring thanks to the church members being rather nosy and not knowing when to mind their own business.

Because of the constant pressure and judgment, it wasn't a surprise that Diana began to rebel against the teachings of the church. When she graduated from high school, Diana began to date one of the reverends even after she entered college to become an OB/GYN.

Personality

One word to describe Miles would be rare. He has a rich inner mind and a surprising way of reacting to the world around him. Being different leaves him feeling alienated and even causes him to experience certain levels of self-doubt.

Miles follows his own set of morals and beliefs and hates being shoved into a box. He will often push against anything that is traditional simply because he doesn't enjoy not being allowed to be himself. He enjoys helping people when they are in pain and wants to be there for people as much as he can. He is in touch with the world around him and won't hesitate to come to someone's defense if they're being bullied or harassed. 

Miles is an independent and introverted person who enjoys plenty of time to himself. He prefers to spend time with his favorite people rather than go to a raging party or event. He also prefers quiet time and would rather spend time focusing on real encounters. Miles can sometimes appear moody or distant simply because he requires time to himself. Sometimes he is feeling drained and needs to separate himself from others. Because of how empathetic and warm Miles is, this can be confusing. He is emotionally driven but he is also extremely logical. He needs time to think and process things on his own which can throw people off sometimes and even cause them to become hurt. Miles is capable of going after what he wants but isn't always extremely forward and aggressive about it. He will express himself but he won't push anyone if they seem resistant.

Past: Miles was born into a middle class family and when he was 5, his family moved to Atlanta and they joined Second Chance Ministries. Miles became fast friends with the Bishop's son Dante and from there, they grew up together and had a very close friendship that continued to last as they became teenagers and adults, even enlisting into the military together although they went to different branches.

Miles always had a crush on Diana and really cared about her but he was always shot down or rejected. Despite that, Miles kept trying to win her affections but to no avail. When Diana became pregnant, Miles immediately seized the opportunity to make her his when her mother gave her the ultimatum of getting married or getting an abortion.

Luckily for Miles, Diana chose marriage and they had a shotgun wedding, Diana giving birth to Judith 7 months later. Now a paramedic, Miles is enjoying his marriage to Diana, doting on her and Judith with undying love and affection.
