The incidents continued to happen for a year and a half until Yvette walked in on them. Taking Floyd's side over Carmelita's, Yvette kicked her out. To make matters worse, Shavon sided with Yvette as well, meaning Carmelita had no place to stay and was homeless.
After wandering the streets for a while, Carmelita was approached by a man named William Black and was taken in by him. He became her sugar daddy and she soon found herself working in his strip club as well as hanging out around the wrong crowd. Black didn't like Carmelita stripping and suggested that she go to college instead which she followed since she always wanted to be a judge. But Carmelita still continued to party and go out with friends whenever possible to blow off some steam.
Things between them went well for a year before Black began to abuse Carmelita physically and became controlling over her.
