Personality

Veronica is a woman with a quiet, icy, and classy demeanor. She's usually distant and reserved, preferring to express herself through her actions rather than words. Whenever she does speak, she speaks candidly and bluntly with lots of sass. Veronica absolutely abhors small talk and frivolousness. Past: Veronica's father David was a U.S. Marine and he had met her mother Aileen while he was in college. They fell in love which resulted in Aileen getting pregnant and they eloped in Hawaii. The couple settled down in Fort Hood, Texas where Veronica was born. She had a happy childhood and many great memories but little did she know, things were going to get really bad really quickly.

Aileen and David had gotten divorced when Veronica was 8 due to irreconcilable differences and her parents shared custody of her but Veronica spent most of her time at her mom's place due to her father's career. Her mother had gotten remarried to an officer in the U.S. Navy who already had a son and her father had gotten remarried to a prominent military lawyer and had two more daughters.

 

Having a blended family made Veronica come out of her shell and she had great memories with her newfound stepparents and siblings but there were some bad memories to go along with them. Her stepfather Anthony's younger brother Mark was inappropriate with Veronica from the moment he first met her and the grooming soon escalated to full-blown rape when she was 13. Whenever there was a family gathering or reunion, Veronica would be subject to sexual and mental abuse at the hands of Mark but as she got older, she began to fight back against him and avoided him whenever possible, wanting to get away from him and never see him again.

After graduating from high school, Veronica decided to enlist into the Marines, following in her father's footsteps and her MOS was 5811: Military Police. She quickly built a name for herself thanks to her determination, hard work ethic, and sassy attitude and it wasn't long before she worked her way up the ranks and became a Special Agent in the Criminal Investigation Division, even earning a Silver Star for her bravery and heroism. During this time, she had married her longtime sweetheart Joseph Summers, having 3 kids with him. But their relationship was often tumultuous and filled with tension because of Veronica's devotion to her work, her sexual repression which caused them to have a semi-dead bedroom, and the changes to her personality which eventually led to their divorce after 5 years of marriage and 10 overall years of being together. Veronica was very good at her job to the point where she was considered lethal and after 8 years in the Marines, she left and decided to join the FBI with her kids in tow.

Within a year, Veronica found herself in the Counterintelligence Division, working in the Counterespionage Section. She had made quite a name for herself and after 4 years of being there, Veronica decided to join the BAU, seeing it as her ultimate call in life and has been there ever since.

On the surface, Diana is soft-spoken and polite as well as warm and compassionate. Motivation and cheerfulness are also a part of her daily routine. Her biggest personality trait is her calm, "zen-like" nature. Diana rarely loses her composure and is always there to offer support and wise advice to anyone who needs it. Past: Diana's childhood was raised in a strait-laced Christian household. Her mother Renee was strict and sometimes harsh while her father Lester was more gentle and kind. One word to describe Miles would be rare. He has a rich inner mind and a surprising way of reacting to the world around him. Being different leaves him feeling alienated and even causes him to experience certain levels of self-doubt.

Miles follows his own set of morals and beliefs and hates being shoved into a box. At first glance, Zuri seems like an introverted, classy ice queen. She is quiet, troubled, brooding, grim, moody, seemingly emotionless, intelligent, studious, and sarcastic. Zuri can always come up with a snarky and sarcastic remark and her wittiness knows no bounds. She is quite mature, often giving advice to others about various subjects and generally staying cool and calm no matter how desperate the situation is. Around strangers, Zuri is often emotionally restrained, appearing secretive and distant as well as spending most of her time by herself. It is difficult for her to build trust in anyone and even more difficult to truly forgive if that trust were to be broken. Zuri doesn't like to mince words and says whatever is on her mind no matter what, having no tolerance for stupidity. Her mouth can be quite outrageous to the point of being humorous. ~~Biography~~

Zuri was born to Crystal Briggs and Beau Willie Brown. Her parents were fresh out of high school and Beau enlisted into the U.S. Army while Crystal took up a job as an assistant to a large CEO. Crystal adjusted perfectly to her job while Beau was having a difficult time adapting to military life and his mental state began to deteriorate slowly but surely.

When Zuri was 5, her younger siblings Kenya and Kwame were born which resulted in Beau leaving the military when his contract was up. He tried to find a job but it was proving difficult due to his PTSD and alcoholism. To make matters worse, Beau had started to become abusive towards Crystal and it wasn't uncommon for Zuri to go to school with bruises on her body. Although CPS was often called on the Briggs family, nothing came of it due to Beau's aggression and temper scaring them away.

Zuri lived in constant fear and anxiety for many years until the unthinkable happened. When she was 12, Beau had dropped Kenya and Kwame out of the window of their apartment building. Since they were on the 5th floor, they died instantly. Zuri and Crystal had tried to save them but they were badly beaten in the process. Following the trial and conviction, Veronica struggled with depression and grief to the point of self-destruction. Past: Josephine had an upbringing that most kids dreamed of. Loving parents, awesome siblings, endless support, the works. Although she didn't have the best social life outside of the home due to being bullied a lot, her family more than made up for it and gave her the light she needed to thrive. 

When she was 18, her life changed forever when she was introduced to Earl Chapman who was 12 years her senior. He was a rich CEO who had come to her college as a guest speaker in one of her classes. Josephine was instantly charmed by Earl and it wasn't long before they started dating. He was her first everything and a year later, she became pregnant with her first son Craig. That was when the cracks in their relationship started to form.

Earl wanted Josephine to drop out of college and marry him so she could become a stay-at-home mom but she refused and wanted to finish her education first. Thanks to her family backing her up, Josephine got her way and eventually finished her Bachelor's degree in Business 3 years later. By then, Josephine was already married to Earl and pregnant with her second son Miles. She also adopted Earl's two sons from his previous marriage: Earl Jr and Ike. 

Josephine wanted to start her own business but Earl forbade it and threatened to leave her and the boys if she didn't become a housewife. He had started to isolate Josephine from her family and friends and made her solely independent on him, not allowing her to have any kind of freedom from him unless it was heavily vetted by him.

The physical abuse began on their 5 year wedding anniversary when Josephine expressed that she wanted more freedom to do what she wanted. For the next 12 years, Josephine was constantly abused, belittled, and torn down by Earl to the point where she felt worthless and it was even worse because of Earl's constant infidelity and promiscuity. 

Eventually Josephine snapped and during one of Earl's beatings, she grabbed a cast iron skillet and brutally beat him with it to the point where he was unconscious and bleeding. She quickly grabbed everything she could possibly fit into her car, including all of the evidence she had made over the years of Earl's abuse as well as money. Josephine drove to her childhood home which was many hours away and her parents were horrified when they saw how bad she looked. 

For the first time in years, Josephine was reunited with her family and finally had the freedom that she deserved. But the battle was just beginning. Earl was furious with Josephine for leaving him and tried to use his many resources to stalk and find her but her family threatened him and Josephine filed for divorce, citing abuse and infidelity with all of her evidence.

However Josephine fell gravely ill and had to be hospitalized. It was during this time that she discovered that she was HIV-positive, having been infected by Earl. She lost all will to live and fight and a week after she was released from the hospital, Josephine had decided to end her own life and went to a local bridge in the middle of the night, planning to jump from it. But she was intercepted by Dante who was returning from a job and trying to talk her down. It took two hours for Dante to convince Josephine to not go through with her plan and he decided to escort her home, continuing to talk to her as he did so. 

Meeting Dante inspired Josephine to keep living and it ignited a fire within her like never before. She started treatment for her HIV and mental health treatment as well. With her family having her back, Josephine stood up against Earl during the divorce process and thanks to her evidence against him, she took him to the cleaners despite him having good, expensive lawyers. 

Earl went bankrupt because of Josephine taking everything from him and his company went under as a result. His sons also wanted nothing to do with him because of how abusive he was over the years. This caused Earl to go completely insane and using the last of what he had, he managed to track down Josephine and attempted to kill her. But he was stopped by her twin brother and sister-in-law and arrested on the spot after being badly beaten by them. Earl was charged with attempted murder and sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 30 years.

Josephine decided to finally follow her dreams and opened up her own restaurant which became a quick success and now she's a successful businesswoman working to make the world a better place and help others.
