Josephine is a wounded, depressed woman with a lot on her shoulders. Despite seeming like she has it together and being loved by the community as well as her family, she feels very alone and doesn't think she is worthy of love. Josephine often isolates herself from others and shuns people away from her when they try to get close to her either emotionally or physically. She can become quite defensive and angry when questioned or pushed and if she's disrespected, the offender better watch out because her temper is one to be feared. She prides herself on self-control and staying calm so it takes a lot to get her to that point to begin with. She has a cold, frigid demeanor along with a air of elegance that can make her seem intimidating at times.

Josephine is quite secretive and often hides things about herself from others, having a few hidden talents. She is enigmatic and rarely opens up to people if at all. She keeps things bottled up inside and has major trust issues which is why she is such a loner. Past: Josephine had an upbringing that most kids dreamed of. Loving parents, awesome siblings, endless support, the works. Although she didn't have the best social life outside of the home due to being bullied and ostracized a lot, her family more than made up for it and gave her the light she needed to thrive. 

When she was 18, her life changed forever when she was introduced to Earl Chapman who was 12 years her senior. He was a rich attorney who had come to her college as a guest speaker in one of her classes. Josephine was instantly charmed by Earl and it wasn't long before they started dating. He was her first everything and a year later, she became pregnant with her first daughter Iris.

 

Things just blossomed more and more from there. Josephine moved in with Earl despite her parents' protests and he treated her like a queen, lavishing her with expensive things and helping her with her studies so she could become a lawyer like she always dreamed of. 

3 years later, Josephine and Earl were married and she became pregnant with her second daughter Raven. She also adopted Earl's two daughters from his previous marriage: Vanessa and Trinity. Josephine graduated law school at the top of her class and after passing the bar exam, she went to work at Earl's law firm where she made quite the reputation for herself over the years and gained respect based on her own skills instead of her marriage to Earl.

Josephine and Earl lived in marital bliss for 10 years as a power couple but it all came crashing down when she collapsed while at work and was rushed to the hospital. It was then that she discovered that she was HIV-positive and gravely ill. Unbeknownst to Josephine, Earl was addicted to sex and had multiple affairs and one-night stands with many women which caused him to contract HIV in the process. 

She was furious and tried to confront Earl when she was released from the hospital but he had disappeared without a trace. Two weeks later, the police showed up at Josephine's door and revealed to her that Earl was dead. One of his mistresses also discovered that she was HIV-positive and decided to take matters into her own hands by shooting him in the head.

The mistress was quickly arrested and after a lengthy, arduous trial, she was sentenced to 30 years in prison. Being Earl's widow, Josephine inherited everything upon his death including his law firm as per his will. She took over Earl's firm, turning it into a major powerhouse and is now more successful than ever before but still struggles with her own demons and is trying to heal from her trauma and betrayal.

Jessie has no shame when it comes to her body or sexuality. Carefree, youthful, and wild, she's a seductive, flirtatious temptress who is up for anything and everything. Her open-mindedness knows no bounds and she has a lot of friends due to her friendliness and benevolence. Past: Jessie was born and raised in a Mormon household but it was quite difficult for her. Due to her parents' religious beliefs and how the Mormon church is overall, Jessie was often subject to criticism and ridicule which became even worse because of how original and rebellious she was becoming as she grew older, becoming a teenager.

When she was 16, Jessie began to date one of her classmates named William Hightower and at age 17, she lost her virginity to him. Her parents were furious when they found out not just because Jessie had sex out of wedlock but because William was a black man and forbade them from seeing each other.

But Jessie defied her parents and on her 18th birthday, she surprised everyone by resigning from the Mormon church and going to New York with William and his family where they eloped and moved in with his parents. William enlisted in the Marines not too long afterwards and Jessie worked various jobs to make any money she could so she wouldn't be too much of a burden on her in-laws.

A year later, Jessie discovered that she was pregnant and William made the decision to finally buy a house which he was able to do thanks to Jessie saving money during that time and because of his own income that he was making.

Things only got better for Jessie when one of her sisters Erin was able to get into contact with her which lead to an emotional reunion for the Maye siblings. Deciding to follow in Jessie's footsteps, Erin and Eris had left the Mormon church as well with Zane and Christopher following suit shortly thereafter. When Aaron had decided to leave too, he was kicked out by their parents and forced to move in with his brothers.

Now reunited with her siblings, Jessie had their support alongside William's during her pregnancy and gave birth to a beautiful daughter that she named Veronica. Throughout the years, while William's military career flourished, Jessie was a housewife and had two more daughters named Candace and Katheryn. But when she was 27, a horrible tragedy happened that changed her life forever.

William sacrificed himself to save his fellow soldiers and Jessie got that call that she always feared. The grief was overwhelming for her and the only reason she was able to make it was because of her siblings being there for her throughout the entire ordeal. Jessie fell into a deep depression and although William's life insurance and GI Bill was more than enough to pay the bills for a few years, she knew that well would run dry soon and she still needed to provide for her daughters.

Jessie decided to become a stripper at an LGBT strip club and enrolled in college, intent on going to law school to become a lawyer like she always wanted. Her lifestyle became a bit more wild as well but not too wild to the point where it interfered with her being a mother and taking care of her daughters alongside her schooling. Now Jessie is a high-paying stripper making lots of money to support herself and her family while also dealing with her education.

Personality: Christina is a secretive, scandalous, roguish, and crafty jezebel with a very mischievous, flippant, saucy, presumptuous, and extremely nervy attitude. Often she subjugates others through her many forms of manipulation, extortion, low blows, and dirt she's able to obtain on people. Unprincipled and unscrupulous, Christina often engages in rather questionable activities and thuggish behaviors such as conning/robbing, being an escort/pimp and mistress, engaging in elaborate forms of blackmail, etc.

Christina has a chameleon, street-smart nature that enables her to blend in with any crowd and she's excellent at reading and profiling people. This combined with her free-spirited and bold demeanor makes her invaluable when it comes to infiltration and going undercover. Christina has no shame when it comes to her body or sexuality, being quite amoral and lusty and her open-mindedness knows little bounds.

Christina has deep emotional scars from her childhood and early adult life which have turned her into an angry, vengeful woman. The main way she expresses her trauma is through her wrath. She's very choosy about her friends and associates and often appears as tough-minded, unemotional, and ruthless. Bio/Background: Christina's mother Cassandra gave birth to her when she was only 15. Being a teen mom, Cassandra was wild and crazy, often leaving Christina in the company of neighbors and her grandmother while she went out partying or with men. Cassandra eventually became involved with a man named Reggie when Christina was 7 and their relationship was surprisingly steady, Reggie even moving in them.

But it all came at a cost. A very severe cost that was gonna change Christina's life forever.

When Christina was 8, Reggie began to display an inappropriate interest in her and at age 12, he began molesting and raping her on a regular basis. Although Christina tried to tell her mother, it fell on deaf ears and Cassandra chose Reggie over her, even accusing her of being fast and promiscuous.

Completely shattered and broken by her mom's betrayal, Christina ran away from home at 13 and wound up in the arms of her cousin Steve whom she was very close to. He was a transvestite who went by the name Lady Diamond and taught Christina most of the things she knows when it came to conning, robbing, and escorting.

At age 16, Christina gave birth to twins: a boy and a girl that she named Quincy Jr and Quelita. The father was a notorious gang member named Quincy Maxwell whom she was in an abusive relationship with and was quite scared of him. When the twins were 2, Christina tried to leave Quincy with them in tow but he took them and stated that if she paid 50 grand, she could have them back.

With Steve's help, Christina gathered the money quickly and paid Quincy but instead of him keeping his word, he horribly beat her to the point where she was almost unrecognizable and took the twins from her anyway. After Steve discovered the injured Christina, he got into a huge fight with Quincy and Christina discovered that Quincy killed the twins by throwing them over a bridge.

Devastated, Christina went to the police and gave Quincy up on multiple crimes he had committed over the years which resulted in him getting a long prison sentence. Six months later, Steve was found hung and castrated due to conning the wrong guy.

Losing her cousin and mentor was very saddening and depressing for Christina since she had to strike out on her own without her partner in crime. Deciding to make a better life for herself, she decided to go to college with the intent of fulfilling her dream of becoming a lawyer and becoming an escort to support herself amongst other things.

Past: When Brandy was 8, her parents were murdered during a carjacking. She and her older sister Yvette were handed over to their aunt Shavon who suffered from bipolar disorder and was very volatile towards them. When Yvette turned 18, Shavon kicked her and 16 year old Brandy out, causing the two to move in with Yvette's boyfriend Floyd.

At first, things were finally going well for once in Brandy's life but six months later, Floyd began to make sexual advances towards her which soon escalated to rape. The incidents continued to happen until Yvette walked in on them. Taking Floyd's side over Brandy's, Yvette kicked her out. To make matters worse, Shavon sided with Yvette as well, meaning Brandy had no place to stay and was homeless.

After wandering the streets for a while, Brandy was approached by a man named William Black and was taken in by him. He became her sugar daddy and she soon found herself working in his strip club. Black didn't like Brandy stripping and suggested that she go to college instead which she followed since she always wanted to be a nurse practitioner.

Things between them went well for a year before Black began to abuse Brandy physically and became controlling over her. It only increased after Brandy became romantically involved with another woman named Veronica Edwards who worked for G.U.N. Brandy eventually managed to escape Black and ran away to one of his security guards with whom Veronica was staying with off and on.

But Black tracked her down which led to a shootout between him and Veronica, the result being their deaths. Brandy later discovered she was pregnant and decided to continue her schooling, giving birth to a baby girl that she named after Veronica. Now she's a nurse practitioner working hard to provide for her daughter and help others.

Personality: If someone were to describe Brandy, they would describe her as a free spirit, good time girl, and a wild child at heart. Brandy is the center of life and passion amongst her friends and is friendly and caring, often taking on the nurturing role. She is heavily socially sophisticated, especially on matters pertaining to love, romance, and sex and will often give advice if asked.

Although Brandy is very easy to approach and talk to, she doesn't open up very easily and uses her individuality as a shield and defense mechanism along with independence. She doesn't talk about her past much and will only let people get so close to her before she starts distancing herself. Past: Veronica's parents Claudia and William had an abusive and dysfunctional relationship which resulted in the latter leaving not too long after Axel was born. Claudia became an alcoholic, religious fanatic, abusing and neglecting her kids, often choosing booze over them. Luis had to take on the parental roles and looked after his siblings while also taking care of Claudia. When he turned 18, he moved out and took his siblings with him after Veronica, who was 14 at the time, got into a violent confrontation with their mother who hit her in the head with a beer bottle, scarring her.

Wanting to help her older brothers, Veronica began to take on some of the responsibilities of their home, resorting to selling drugs, street racing, street fighting, and hanging out with the wrong crowd. At the age of 16, Veronica's life would change forever as she knew it. She met a 19 year old by the name of Luke Williams after winning a big street fight that netted her $5000. Despite blowing him off at first, Luke continued to pursue Veronica, even saving her life at certain points.

Eventually Veronica fell for Luke's charm after he attended her high school graduation. He took her under his wing and after realizing her potential decided to recruit her as his right-hand woman in his growing gang La Familia, taking her with him to California. Veronica underwent grueling training in the criminal lifestyle and in the process became Luke's lover as well.

Two years later, Veronica ended her relationship with Luke after she caught him cheating on her. This resulted in her leaving La Familia and returning to her brothers who had moved to California as well. Still reeling from Luke's betrayal, Veronica lived her days in a dark haze for three months until she met a solider in the Army named Christopher Miller after defeating him at a local gym. Chris became interested in Veronica and pursued her for six months until she finally relented and went out with him.

They dated for a year and a half before Christopher proposed to Veronica, leading to their subsequent marriage. Things were blissful and peaceful for three years until Luke reappeared, wanting Veronica back by his side to help run La Familia which had become an empire at that point. She refused his offer, having adjusted to the lifestyle of an army wife. Three days later, Christopher didn't come home from the local base and was declared missing. His body was found within hours in a ditch, his neck snapped.

Veronica was hysterical and Luke took the opportunity to come back into her life, being responsible for Christopher's death. Despite being determined not to fall for his charm again, she did just that and rejoined La Familia as his right-hand woman once more. Veronica and Luke's budding relationship led to her giving birth to their daughter Robin not too long afterwards, making them parents.

Past: Adrian was born into a stressful environment alongside his twin sister Alice. His parents Faith and Richard were teen parents, the former being 14 and the latter being 16. Past: Carmelita's parents died during the 9/11 attacks when she was 8. Her older sister Nora had to step up to the plate to take care of her and the boys Alexus and Alejandro who were 6 at the time. ~~History/Biography~~

 

Athena's childhood was normal yet active despite her suffering from asthma and from the age of 5, she had an interest in dueling that didn't go unnoticed by her mother who was a former professional duelist. Underneath her tutelage, Athena became one of the best duelists in her hometown and at age 12, she met the man who would change her life forever: Jeremy Murtaugh who was a friend of her mother's.

He was 18 years her senior and she instantly gravitated towards him because he made her feel beautiful and worthy. Jeremy had become Athena's mentor and her growing interest in dueling only made their relationship even stronger since he was a professional duelist. 

When Athena was 13, her younger brother Teshawn was abducted from a department store while she was out shopping with him and her friends. After extensive searching and numerous coverage, his body was found two weeks later. To make matters more stressful, Athena's parents had decided to divorce due to her father coming out as gay. Athena was devastated and completely shut down, only opening up to Jeremy and relying completely on him. He took advantage of this and she lost her virginity to him when she was 14 which made their relationship quite sexual and deviant. At this point, Jeremy had started to become manipulative and controlling. 

Athena applied to enter Duel Academy behind Jeremy's back but there was one major obstacle in her way: she was pregnant. In response, Jeremy decided to marry her in secret. Due to Athena being underage, Jeremy bribed a government employee to obtain a fake ID for her which was then used to obtain a marriage license that listed her as 18 instead of 15. At that point, Athena's parents were getting worried about her change in demeanor and how she was changing physically. But she refused to speak and shut herself off from everyone who loved her at that point. The only person in her world was Jeremy as far as anyone was concerned.

But everything came to light one night when Jeremy discovered that Athena was trying to get into Duel Academy. He violently raped and beat her but Athena managed to escape after stabbing him with a knife and called her mother before passing out. When she woke up, she was in a hospital bed and her baby was gone. Due to the beating that Jeremy gave her, Athena had miscarried which caused everything to come to light.

Athena's parents were furious and got the marriage between her and Jeremy annulled but not before Carmelita placed him under arrest. Athena was too terrified to speak up but thanks to the encouragement of her fellow duelists and her family, she decided to do so in order to prevent Jeremy from doing what he did to other girls.

To make the case even more airtight against Jeremy, Athena gave one of his laptops to her mother which contained numerous videos of them engaging in sexual acts together as well as with other underage girls. Athena also gave the police an external hard drive which contained videos of Jeremy's abuse against her as well as a video diary in which she talked about their relationship in great detail and how it was destroying her relationship with her family.

In order to keep Athena safe during the investigation, she was sent to Duel Academy to start her education but she still wasn't free from Jeremy. He kept intimidating and blackmailing her to keep her from speaking out and testifying but Athena wouldn't budge thanks to her new environment allowing her to flourish and thrive. She kept records of all conversations between them to hurt him even further as well.

By the time the trial began, there was so much evidence against Jeremy alongside Athena's emotional testimony that the jury was only out for 30 minutes before reaching a verdict: Guilty.

Jeremy is now currently in prison awaiting sentencing and Athena is continuing to heal from the ordeal but her demons still come back to haunt her and continue to shine through.

Aileen's biggest flaws are her impatience and unfiltered mouth. She has a habit of saying things that make people wanna hurt her but she gives no fucks. Aileen is an independent free spirit and being tied down isn't easy for her. She has trust issues and fears being abandoned which makes her distance herself from others, adopting a "Quality over quantity" attitude when it comes to the people she surrounds herself with.

Past: Aileen was born in South Side Chicago under impoverished circumstances. Her mother Louise had her at 15 and was a struggling teen parent. Fortunately she had the support of Aileen's father Alejandro who took up illegal street racing to take care of them. Starting from the age of 5, Aileen took an interest in cars and bikes and began to spend more time with her dad who introduced her to that world and it wasn't long before she was actually repairing things with him despite being only a child.

Unfortunately when Aileen was 12, Alejandro passed away due to complications from diabetes. His death shook Aileen to her core and she began to act out on her grief and anger, taking up street dancing in addition to cars and bikes. Aileen also had the support of her group of friends especially William Wayne who later became her boyfriend when she was 14.

At the age of 16, Aileen was arrested and taken to the local police station for street racing and aggravated assault. She was raped by the cop who arrested her and instead of being silent, Aileen reported him and got a rape kit done. She had to endure harassment from the Chicago PD, often resulting in violence. Unfortunately the former cop was acquitted due to having power in the court system. Aileen was enraged and brutally beat him to within an inch of his life with a socket wrench. She is extremely distrusting of law enforcement because of this incident.

Despite having the sympathy of the public and the jury, Aileen was sentenced to five years in prison at the age of 18. Prison life was hell for Aileen and she developed an addiction to sex in order to survive and adapt. Her relationship with William continued despite this and once Aileen was released from prison, they eloped and she began to seek treatment for her hypersexuality.

William had opened a shop called Slick Will Repairs while Aileen was in prison and she instantly found her calling there, rejoining the world of cars, bikes, and street racing. But their marital bliss was short-lived when William died from a freak accident three years later. A biker suffered a hydraulics malfunction and spun out of control, sending his bike flying from under him into a row of parked bikes, one of which headed right into William, throwing him through a window and killing him instantly.

His death was devastating not only for Aileen but for the community that surrounded them as well because of how much he meant to everyone and how he invested in people. Determined to keep William's legacy alive, Aileen took over the shop as expected and is now the sole owner of it. She still races and dances from time to time, often using those activities to escape and make extra money.
