Personality

Veronica is a woman with a quiet, icy, and classy demeanor. She's usually distant and reserved, preferring to express herself through her actions rather than words. Whenever she does speak, she speaks candidly and bluntly with lots of sass. Veronica absolutely abhors small talk and frivolousness. Deep, interesting, and meaningful conversations are more up her alley. Veronica isn't easy to get close to and her headstrong, emancipated nature just makes it even more difficult. She applies the term "Quality over quantity" to everything in her life, especially people. She's rather choosy and picky about who she allows in her heart and is very observant which helps her with making those decisions.

Veronica is very ambitious and has a hard work ethic, bordering on being a workaholic. She's very dominant, tough-minded, and disciplined. She has a "common sense" and "big sister" role amongst her peers, giving them advice, warning them of their actions, and being very protective of them. But one would be a fool to think that Veronica doesn't have a wild and crazy side. Past: Veronica's father David was a U.S. Marine and he had met her mother Aileen while he was in college. They fell in love which resulted in Aileen getting pregnant and they eloped in Hawaii. The couple settled down in Fort Hood, Texas where Veronica was born. She had a happy childhood and many great memories but little did she know, things were going to get really bad really quickly.

Aileen was having an affair with a high-ranking officer behind David's back. Colonel Lee Murtaugh was his name. He was close friends with David and Veronica had even thought of him as an uncle of sorts. But Lee had committed the ultimate sin against her when she was 12. While she was alone with him in her house, he had raped her and threatened to kill her father if she told.

But Veronica managed to find the inner strength that her father had passed onto her to tell him anyways and David was livid. He became even more angrier when he found out about the affair between Lee and Aileen. David immediately filed for divorce and reported Lee to his superiors.

David's lawyer was Charlene Morton and she had a reputation for being quite the bulldog in court. Thanks to her skills, David was able to get full custody and Aileen only got weekend visitation. As for Lee, he was being court martialed not just for adultery but for raping Veronica and was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

But on Christmas Day, Veronica got the shock of a lifetime. Being 13 at the time, she had given birth to a boy without even knowing she was pregnant. Instead of giving the boy up for adoption, David decided to raise the boy as his own since he always wanted to have another child.

David and Charlene had begun dating after his divorce was finalized and when Veronica was 15, they got married. Finally things in Veronica's life were beginning to change for the better. Or so she thought. Over the years, Aileen had been plotting a way to kill David as revenge for divorcing her, marrying another woman, and putting her lover in jail. It wasn't long before she acted out on her devious plan.

On Veronica's 16th birthday, her father and stepmother held a large birthday party for her and many people were invited including her mother. But things took a terrifying turn. After the party was over, Aileen stayed behind to help clean up and when David's guard was down, she pulled out a gun and shot him four times before going after Veronica and stabbing her several times with a knife. The police arrived within minutes thanks to Charlene and promptly took Aileen down before Veronica finally received medical treatment for her stab wounds.

Sadly David was pronounced dead at the hospital and according to Veronica, her world had ended since she was a daddy's girl through and through and loved David with all her heart. Aileen was charged with 3rd degree murder alongside attempted murder and was sentenced to life in prison. But it did little to quell the sadness and anguish in Veronica's heart which soon became distant and closed-off from others around her. The only way she could truly express herself was through dancing, music, and writing which lead to her talent being highly considered and she got a scholarship to Blackwell Academy in Arcadia Bay, Oregon.

With her stepmom's blessing, Veronica moved to Arcadia Bay and has been at Blackwell Academy since, honing her skills with the hopes of becoming famous and prestigious.
