Charlene is a quiet, collected woman, with a serious but courteous demeanor. She is viewed by her peers as the model of a perfect soldier; strictly disciplined and extremely rational, she rarely relaxes when on the job and is seen keeping her colleagues on track. Though from the outside she might seem strict, rigid, and even a little mean, Charlene is not as cold and distant as she may appear. Those close to her know that there is more to her than her no-nonsense attitude; beneath her professional aura is a kind and gentle soul who is very understanding and empathetic towards others.

Past: Charlene was born in London but moved to the U.S. at the age of six thanks to her father's job as an ambassador, settling down in Washington D.C. She had a sheltered childhood and was provided with the best that her parents could afford for her. Ciel began to teach Charlene about guns and fighting as she approached adulthood, wanting her to be able to protect herself from the world's various dangers.

After graduating from high school at age 17, Charlene enlisted in the U.S. Marines and by the time she was 19, she was in the Special Forces, a trained killer at that point. Most of her time in the Special Forces was spent in several countries, being an assassin in several projects.

After 7 years in the Special Forces, Charlene left and decided to get involved with Interpol and the CIA, joining a team of profilers and taking down numerous terrorists and terrorist organizations. This continued for 5 years until she decided to leave, wanting a more quiet and stable life. This caused her to move to Boston where she was eventually hired to be an assistant and bodyguard to William Cartwright, CEO of Cartwright Industries Inc and has been there ever since.

Personality

On the surface, William seems to be a shallow and self-absorbed man, infamous among many of his colleagues and employees alike for the selfish and narcissistic aura he gives off. Easily as arrogant as one would believe him to be, he is one to act in an ostentatious manner and appears to act mostly out of self-interest rather than any sort of philanthropy. He comes off to most as a sort of cocky layabout, shirking most of his duties and delegating his paperwork to employees while sitting idly at his desk with an amused smile on his face as he procrastinates, but quick to take action when it appears that there is glory and notoriety to be gained.

William is expertly manipulative and prone to think several steps ahead of those around him, giving him a remarkable talent for making people act exactly as he wishes despite appearing not to have had a hand in their decisions - all traits which make his position as CEO a topic of public gossip. He also has the reputation of being an incorrigible womanizer which adds another facet to his unpopularity amongst his male colleagues.

Past: William was set in life from the moment he was born. The Carwrights owned their own company which became very successful and made them multi-billionaires. William and his twin sister Wilona were raised in a privileged household, provided with nothing but the best. Since he was the oldest and his sister didn't show interest in the company, he was groomed to become the next CEO from the very beginning.

As William hit puberty and began to attend junior high school, he met a fellow classmate by the name of Frederick Eugene Buhl whom he became fast friends with. They spent a lot of time together all throughout the years and by the time they were sophomores in high school, they began dating each other which led to William coming out as bisexual and Frederick coming out as gay.

While William's family was accepting of his sexuality and relationship, Frederick wasn't so lucky. His family disowned him and he moved in with the Cartwrights. But this didn't quell the pain in his heart and he committed suicide the night he and William graduated from high school. This devastated him and not wanting to wallow in depression, William solely focused on college and his family's company, becoming CEO by the time he turned 28.
